REDDIT IAmA & PORNTUBE – THE AFTERMATH

As you may or may not know, Steve Matthyssen, owner of Dreamstar Cash, the company that operates PornTube, along with 4Tube and other sites took part in an IamA on Reddit yesterday – along with Rodney Cullen (Operations and SEO) and Damian Casale (CTO).

I run PornTube.com & 4Tube.com (among others) – AMA!!

Well, we were expecting some interest, but wow – did we underestimate the interest it would cause!!  The mammoth Reddit session commenced at approximately 1.30pm GMT+1 yesterday (7th June 2011) and continued until 12.30pm GMT+1 today (8th June 2011) – generated over 2,150 comments – and they’re still coming!

We’d like to take this opportunity to say:

THANKYOU REDDITORS!!!

Thanks to everyone who participated and made this such a worthwhile exercise.

Not only that, but we reached a fantastic No.3 in the Reddit list, which in itself was absolutely brilliant – and if you don’t believe us PornTubers, here’s the proof…..

Up until now, we have received 35 retweets and 50 tweets about the IamA, and have benefited from a deluge of extra traffic thanks to all the interest that was aroused (no pun intended).

Give me some metrics

Dreamstar Cash S.L. (http://www.dreamstarcash.com) main site received an incredible surge of reddit/direct traffic, doubt we’ll see this again in a while…

As for the actual increase in traffic on http://www.porntube.com and http://www.4tube.com we have a 24 hour delay on the Google Analytics stats, but have not been able to draw any conclusive stats from our monitoring software, we’ll update this post when we get the stats.

In all the fantastic comments received, we got some corkers – which actually made us in the PornTube office LOL!!!

Here’s our Top 10 Fabulous Comments:

Questions received ranged from improving our Gay Section – which is something that is a market we are hoping to break into in the future, to questions regarding pop-ups, adverts, requests for better lesbian and “female friendly” content, SEO ideas for the site, information wanted about our servers and setup, copyright and legal issues and more personal questions about the staff, their jobs and our offices in general.

Obviously there were more serious questions – our top rated being “How much money do you make?” and “Have you got any job vacancies?”  Well, strangely enough – you need only visit the Dreamstar Cash website to peruse any jobs we have going at the moment along with information about the offices, activities we do and the staff themselves.  Criticism was inevitable and we took every comment we received very seriously.  Obviously we’d love to give all our commenters space on this blog post, but it’s unfortunately just not possible – so simply link to the Reddit post by pressing here and peruse the whole thread at your leisure – its definitely worth a peek!!!
