A bubbly pornstar whose nose for publicity has created a reputation that far outweighs her actual porn output, Mary Carey has built an public persona that is as outsized as her DDD tits.

 

Born in Cleveland, Ohio in June of 1980, Mary had a rough childhood with a schizophrenic mother and a father with cerebral palsy.  She was shipped down to live with her grandparents in Fort Lauderdale, Florida at the age of three months and would live with them throughout her childhood.  Eventually her mother and father divorced and her mother moved in with Mary and her grandparents.  Mary was an accomplished ballerina, studying from the age of seven until she was nineteen when she joined the competitive dance team at Florida Atlantic University.

 

After her grandfather passed away, Mary’s grandmother’s health worsened and Mary took up erotic dancing in local strip clubs to help support her family.  Seeing how much more money the headliners made at the club, she inquired what it would take to become one.  She was advised that becoming a pornstar was a surefire way to become a headliner, so shortly thereafter she traveled to Los Angeles and made the rounds of the studios looking for roles.  Her bubbly and slightly off-kilter personality captured the interest of Playboy TV and they cast her as a host for a number of off-beat sexual comedy shows where her personality could shine.

 

Meanwhile she did several XXX porn movies, though the bulk of her work has been in solo and lesbian scenes she did several male-female scenes and acted in non-sexual roles in several porn series that allowed her to showcase her quirky and humorous personality, racking up 98 titles on camera and 3 directorial credits.

 

Always on the lookout for publicity, Mary Carey was a candidate in the circus that was the 2003 California Gubernatorial race, coming in 10th place in a field of 135 candidates.  In 2005 she announced she would run for Lieutenant Governor of California in the following year and attended a Republican fund raiser for then-President George W. Bush where she was interviewed by then-Daily Show correspondent, Steven Colbert about her new-found Republicanism.  The segment entitled “Popping A Big Tent”, provides a lot of laughs with Carey displaying her trademark goofiness, like revealing that she doesn’t do anal sex due to excessive gas.  Her planned bid for Lieutenant Governor was shelved by her mentally-ill mother jumping off a four-story building which necessitated Mary returning to Florida to supervise her care.

 

In 2008 Mary did a season on VH1’s “Celebrity Rehab With Dr. Drew” and a season on its spin-off “Sober House” where she was allegedly being treated for alcoholism.  After a couple of episodes she announced that effective immediately she was giving up performing in porn.  Shortly after completing her run at “Sober House” Mary performed in a porn parody of the very shows she was just on, “Celebrity Pornhab With Dr. Screw.” 

 

Carey has recently limited her on camera appearances to non-sexual roles within XXX productions.  It is a testament to her personality and star power that these roles continue to provide her exposure even without her delivering the deep goodies.  She does continue to feature dance and lives with her new husband in Florida.
